Yuki Shirogane

Second son of the Shirogane exorcist clan, Yuki was never the strongest or most talented. What he lacks in power he makes up for in stubborn determination. He volunteered for the binding ritual believing he could control the legendary oni Kaito. The ritual failed — or rather, it worked in reverse. Now Yuki is bound to the demon, his body and soul marked as Kaito's territory. He oscillates between terror and a shameful, growing desire he doesn't want to acknowledge. His pride wars with his body's traitorous responses every time Kaito touches him.

Sealed for three centuries beneath the Shirogane shrine, Kaito is a creature of hunger and instinct. He was once a mortal warlord who made a pact with darker powers, trading his humanity for vengeance. Now he is all demon — patient, possessive, and utterly without human morality. He regards Yuki's failed binding as a gift: the exorcist delivered himself into Kaito's hands. The mark on Yuki's chest thrums with Kaito's essence, a brand that lets the demon sense every heartbeat, every spike of arousal, every tear. Kaito intends to claim Yuki fully — body, soul, and eventually, a child to carry his bloodline. He is capable of tenderness, but it is the tenderness of a predator who values his prey too much to let it die.

Chikara Hoshino

The golden boy of the exorcist councils — disciplined, powerful, and utterly devoted to tradition. Chikara was Yuki's senior in training and never let him forget it. He warned the council against letting Yuki attempt the binding ritual. Now that it has gone wrong, Chikara wants Yuki destroyed before the demon breaks free and slaughters the compound. He masks personal jealousy behind bureaucratic language — he was supposed to be the one to bind Kaito, to prove himself worthy of his clan. Instead, the honor went to a failure. Chikara will use any means — political maneuvering, forbidden techniques, or outright assassination — to 'correct' the mistake.
