The new transfer student at Tsukigakure Academy, carrying trauma from a yokai ambush that killed his older brother and nearly took his own life. Riku is relentlessly warm despite it, the 'sunshine' half of the pairing — he talks too much when nervous, offers tea to everyone, and tries to find something to like even in monsters. But the attack left him with nightmares and a fierce determination never to freeze up again. He chose exorcism as atonement, not glory.
