The Fragile
Embers
Years after All Might's era ended and hero society stabilized, the world has grown complacent — demanding rescues but resenting the cost of symbols. A group of former UA students, now in their late twenties, has scattered across a cynical Japan. Midoriya works as a policy analyst in the Hero Public Safety Commission, his Quirk dimmed by disuse. Todoroki runs a small private agency in the mountains. Uraraka is a disaster-relief coordinator. Bakugo, discharged from his agency after an ethics complaint, trains kids at a dojo. The shadows they fought as students have returned as a new power — a faceless network that dismantles hero credibility with surgical precision, exposing past mistakes and framing heroes for crimes. When the network kidnaps a retired All Might and broadcasts a challenge, these broken veterans are the only ones who can track the threat through Japan's underground. But the network knows their histories, their weaknesses, their secrets. The real enemy isn't a villain with a Quirk — it's the system that built them, then discarded them. The journey forces each of them to answer: if the world no longer wants heroes, what right do they have to still be one?
