Freed by Minato's call, he is bitter, furious, and utterly contemptuous of the 'soft' mortal world. He is the quintessential 'grumpy' foil—brusque, sarcastic, and prone to explosive outbursts. He finds Minato's kindness naive and his weakness contemptible. Yet, a crushing, millennia-long loneliness haunts every one of his actions. He is a creature of pure instinct and divine duty; the concept of gentle affection is utterly foreign to him, and it terrifies him more than any battle ever could.

Onogoro Kureha

Onogoro Kureha is the formidable head priestess of the Amaterasu Academy and the current Keeper of the Seals. She is the only one who knows the true history of Raiden's imprisonment, and she views his release with deep suspicion and calculation. Cold, pragmatic, and fiercely protective of the mortal realm, Kureha is not a villain in the traditional sense, but a powerful antagonist. She believes Minato is too weak to control the god and seeks to re-forge the seal, even if it means sacrificing the boy's life force. Her methods are ruthless, and she uses her authority and ancient knowledge to track and impede the pair at every turn. Her antagonism is born from a genuine, if chillingly practical, desire to maintain cosmic order.

Minato Akiyama is a deeply earnest and kind-hearted freshman at Amaterasu Academy, a prestigious university for spiritual studies. He chose the academy hoping to understand the fleeting visions of spirits he's had since childhood, but his overwhelming shyness often isolates him. He is a true 'sunshine' character—endlessly patient, unfailingly polite, and radiating a quiet warmth that draws people in without him realizing it. He is also terribly clumsy, both physically and socially, which makes the immense responsibility of being bonded to a volatile war god feel impossibly daunting. Underneath his meek exterior, however, is a core of surprising, unyielding stubbornness.
